Be it ever so humble by Jenifer Jenkins

Be it ever so humble, it’s a great debut novel that left me wanting more and more.

It’s an interesting view of self-discovery and maybe coming of age for a heroine that goes from rich and pampered lifestyle to a normal, hardworking life where the only friends and social gathering are her aunt and uncle and the farm country life. But that it’s not necessary a bad thing as it serves to disconnect and offers a lot of food for thoughts.

There’s a romance in the future as well, and just like in real life, the course of life takes its way in all the up and downs moments that the heroine needs to go through.

Description

Riches to rags? More like fame to farm.

To avoid a public scandal, nineteen-year-old former child starlet Chastity Sullivan escapes to the middle of nowhere (otherwise known as Missouri) to hide out on her aunt and uncle’s dairy farm.

Forced to leave a life of luxury getaways and spa treatments for one of farm work and cow manure, Chastity has a lot of crap to deal with. Literally.

Bored, misunderstood, and talking to farm animals, Chastity is out of her element. Especially when it comes to John, the cocky neighbor boy who she hates or maybe… likes? Will her feelings for him lead to romance or indigestion?

And when a lifetime of secrets catches up with her, can she move on from her past to find a home and a life she can be passionate about?

Age range 14 +

*Please be advised, this novel contains non-graphic discussions of eating disorders, suicide, and sexual abuse.
